Situation Wire is put together by volunteers. We are looking for people who can verify and write up incidents carefully, and who can cover languages and regions we currently can't. Tell us about yourself and an editor will get back to you.

• The core skill is verification: geolocating footage, cross-checking claims, being clear about what can't be confirmed.
• Reporting or translation in Arabic, Spanish, French, Ukrainian, Russian, Amharic and other languages is especially useful.
• A few hours a week is fine. There is no shift rota.
