Use of the site

Situation Wire is a free, non-commercial monitoring service run by volunteers. You may read, quote and link to dispatches with attribution. Automated scraping that degrades the service, attempts to break authentication, or republishing dispatches wholesale as your own are not permitted.

Accuracy and no warranty

Dispatches are compiled from third-party reporting and open sources under time pressure. Claims are attributed, not asserted, and every dispatch lists its sources. We correct errors and log the corrections publicly. Even so, the site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and you should verify against primary sources before acting on or resharing anything here. We are not liable for decisions taken in reliance on the content.

Contributions

If you volunteer or send material to the desk, you confirm you are entitled to share it and grant us permission to use it in our reporting. Do not send classified material or anything that would put you or others at risk.

Dispatches link to external sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
